Three Problems You'll Face Without AI SEO

You can't justify the retainer. Traffic is shifting to AI-generated answers and your client's numbers are dropping. Without AI visibility data, you can't explain what's happening - let alone fix it.
You're losing pitches. The agency across town just added "AI Search Optimization" to their deck. They might not know more than you, but they have a slide and a story. You need the data behind it.

Only 6.8% of Google's top results appear in ChatGPT citations. Each AI platform uses a different source. Traditional SEO tools can't measure any of this - which means most agencies are flying blind.

We've spent a year building the tools, running the experiments, and developing the methodology so you don't have to start from scratch. You get a new service line backed by real research - not guesswork.

Five Kinds of Intelligence. One Weekly Deliverable.

Each report covers all of the below. Click any section to read the methodology in depth.

What You're Actually Choosing Between

If you are looking at AI search visibility solutions, these are the realistic alternatives. We named what each one is good at and what it does not do.

Option What you get What you don't get
Self-serve AI visibility tracker
Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI, ZipTie, etc.
Real-time dashboards. Multi-platform monitoring. Alerts when citations change. Per-query data. Diagnosis. Tools tell you the rank dropped, not why, and not what to ship next. Most also miss Meta AI, Amazon Q, and TikTok AI as separate platforms.
Traditional SEO agency
Most agencies you already know
Google rank improvements. Link building. Content production at scale. Established workflows. AI-specific work. Most still optimize for the 2018 SERP. Few measure ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity citations directly. None track Meta AI or Amazon Q.
One-off AI SEO audit
A consultant's $5K-$15K snapshot
A snapshot diagnosis. Prioritized recommendations. Often a slide deck. Ongoing monitoring. The AI landscape shifts weekly (Bing index updates, model retraining, new bots). One audit is one snapshot.
DIY with free resources
Our free scanner + published papers
Cheapest option. You run our scanner, read the research, apply it yourself. Honest answer: this works if you have the time. Time. Reading 6 research papers and 100+ blog posts plus running your own competitive analysis weekly is a real content-strategy job.
Weekly intelligence report
What we sell. Details →
Diagnosis plus prioritized actions plus cross-platform tracking, every week. 75 pages. Email delivery. You keep every report. A dashboard. We deliver a written report by email; we do not host a login. Implementation is on your team unless you scope it separately.

The honest version: if you only need a dashboard, pick a tracker. If you only want a one-time scan, hire any consultant. If you want ongoing diagnosis tied to research-backed actions, that is what the weekly report is.

Why We're Biased (And How We Try Not to Be)

If you read enough AI SEO content, every agency sounds equally confident. That should make you skeptical of all of us, including us. Here is the version of this you do not usually get.

Bias 1: We sell AI search visibility. Our incentive is to make AI search feel as critical as possible.

How we mitigate: we publish the actual numbers. Across our monitored sites, the AI-source-to-human-session ratio is around 1,610 to 1. AI bots are reading your content at huge scale, but human referral traffic from AI is still a small fraction of total visits. We tell you that up front instead of showing you the bot crawl numbers and letting you assume those are humans.

Bias 2: The research backing our recommendations is our own.

How we mitigate: every paper is pre-registered on OSF before analysis runs. Replication datasets ship to Zenodo with DOIs. When our pipeline turned out to have a feature-extraction bug that flipped two coefficient signs, we published the correction as Addendum 9 of the pre-registration log instead of quietly rewriting the paper. You can re-run our regression on commodity hardware in about seven hours.

Bias 3: We do not have client testimonials yet. This is a new practice.

How we mitigate: we lean on the only credibility we actually have, which is published research. Six papers. Pre-registered, replicable, with public DOIs. If you want a service backed by 47 named client logos, we are the wrong call right now. Come back in a year.

Bias 4: Anthony Lee is the sole researcher. Single-author bias is real.

How we mitigate: the work is preprinted, not peer-reviewed. We say so on every research page. We invite replication and accept methodology critique publicly (Lily Ray's Berkson's-paradox critique is what shaped Study A's comparison-pool design). When other researchers contradict our findings, we report the conflict instead of ignoring it.

Bias 5: AI search is a small share of total search traffic today.

How we mitigate: we will not tell you AI is the majority of your traffic, because for most sites it is not yet. The honest pitch is that bot crawl volume is up sharply (we see ~9,600 to ~11,000 AI bot requests a month per site we monitor) and the trend keeps accelerating. If your business horizon is one quarter, AI search is probably not your top problem. If it is two to four years, ignoring it is expensive.

What we will not do for you.

Traditional Google SEO retainers, paid ads management, social media management, link-building campaigns, PR pitching, and content production at agency scale. We do AI search visibility intelligence. If you need anything on that list, we will say so and recommend you look elsewhere. The wrong client is more expensive than no client.

Built for Agencies That Want to Lead, Not Follow

Marketing Agencies

A client is going to ask you about AI search next quarter. Be the agency that already has the answer, the data, and the plan - not the one scrambling to catch up.

SEO Agencies

Ahrefs can't tell you who ChatGPT recommends. We give you the data your tools can't produce - so you can add AI SEO to your service line with research behind it, not guesswork.

Advertising Agencies

You track organic and paid. AI search is the third channel. The agency that brings this data to the next pitch wins the retainer. We make sure that's you.

Web Design & Hosting Firms

You already have site root access. AI bot monitoring is one middleware file away - and it gives your clients a service nobody else is offering them yet.

Not self-serve. Every engagement is custom. How we work together →
