AI Competitive Intelligence for Agencies
Find out who AI platforms cite instead of your client, across which platforms, for which queries — and exactly why those competitors are being selected.
Most agencies know their clients' Google competitors. They have zero visibility into who dominates AI-generated recommendations. We map the AI citation landscape and tell you what to do about it.
The Problem
The Blind Spot in Agency Competitive Analysis
When someone asks ChatGPT to recommend a marketing agency, law firm, or SaaS tool, the answer includes citations. Those citations are the new competitive battlefield — and most agencies have no idea who's winning it.
Traditional tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz) show Google rankings. They don't show who ChatGPT recommends, who Perplexity cites, or who Claude references. The AI competitive landscape is often completely different from the SERP landscape.
Our research confirms this: Google top-3 vs. AI citation overlap is just 6.8% for ChatGPT and 32% for Perplexity at the URL level — but domain-level overlap reaches 28.7–49.6%. AI platforms draw from the same trusted domains, but pick different pages.
Process
How It Works
Query Generation
Our query generator ingests your client's Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools data, classifies each keyword by intent (SERVICE, INFORMATIONAL, BRANDED, NAVIGATIONAL), and produces 3+ AI-native prompt variations per keyword — covering Discovery, Validation, Comparison, Informational, and Review-Seeking intents weighted for the client's vertical.
Multi-Platform Scraping
Queries run across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode using 10 separate browser sessions per platform (40 total per query), each with its own account. This eliminates personalization bias and surfaces genuinely consistent citation patterns.
Platform-specific extraction (SSE stream interception for Claude/Perplexity, DOM-based for ChatGPT/Google AI Mode) captures all cited URLs plus fan-out queries — the web searches AI platforms trigger internally during response generation. One-off mentions are filtered; what remains are URLs that AI platforms reliably recommend.
Deep Competitive Analysis
For each top-cited competitor URL (typically the top 3), we run comprehensive analysis:
- Technical GEO factors — Schema, heading structure, content-to-HTML ratio, word count, timestamps
- Readability scoring — Flesch-Kincaid level, sentence complexity, vocabulary accessibility
- Persuasion patterns — Social proof, authority signals, emotional vs. rational balance
- Content structure — Answer capsules, front-loading, list usage, section organization
- Platform-specific factors — Bing indexation, cross-index visibility, robots.txt access
All findings are cross-referenced against our GEO Knowledge Base to generate actionable advice grounded in empirical citation data.

Under the Hood
The Technology Behind It
Three proprietary tools work together: the query generator (GSC data to realistic consumer queries), the multi-platform scraper (automated cross-platform citation extraction), and the GEO Knowledge Base (empirically grounded optimization recommendations). No existing SEO tool provides this combination — which is why we built it ourselves.
